Thanks Dave – it copes with PDF as well which is necessary for the upload to both Lulu and Blurb.

But having to work out how to do all the above in another editor may be more than I fancy taking on! Open Office does a nice job of it luckily :)

If you need to format future documents, you might like something based on LaTex, like Lyx (http://www.lyx.org/).
